OutBuilding Kits

Our award-winning OutBuilding kits are an ideal solution for a residence with site constraints or limited access. Or, if a fully assembled project from our Flemington, NJ facility is larger than can be permitted to transport in which case a kit can be assembled onsite by our master carpenter, Robert Lupinski. Or, if shipping overseas. Or, if you want to have a hands-on experience with a building project.

Ship Methods

As indicated, our exclusive OutBuilding Kits are pre-cut, ready-to-assemble. Kits are typically shipped in one of three ways, 1) Our partner Robert Lupinski will deliver and assemble himself, generally in a 500 mile radius. This is not a rigid mileage radius as we have delivered and assembled projects up to 2000 miles in distance.  2) we crate and ship kits via common carrier or blanket wrap carrier to your residence to be assembled by a local carpenter of your choice. 3) We load, you pick-up at our Flemington, NJ facility. This is typically with a U-Haul or Penske box truck, size variable depending on load requirements.

What’s Included

Component parts in our kits are clearly labeled for easy identification. Parts are readily referenced with our easy-to-follow step-step CAD construction drawings and visuals.  Parts are pre-cut, with minor trim cutting required on a few components, such as siding. Windows are pre-hung with hardware. Doors are pre-drilled for easy hardware installation. Corner trim is pre-assembled with lock miter joinery. We include required fasteners, sealant and touch-up paint. Detailed parts list is included to ensure that all parts are accounted for.

We are sometimes asked if assembly is a DIY (Do-It-Yourself) project. Unless you are familiar with basic carpentry, general construction methods, and safe operation of requisite tools we recommend having an experienced lead carpenter on the project.

How Long Will Assembly Take?

Assembly time will vary depending on OutBuilding model and configuration. As an example, our flagship model, Williamsburg Classic™ (WC10) is assembled by our master carpenter Robert Lupinski, working alone, in two 12 hour days. Bear in mind that Robert has orchestrated and assembled so many of our OutBuilding Kits such that he knows the assembly process inside-out. More typically, it will take someone doing this for the first time 40+ hours. Of note we have had more than a few experienced father-son/daughter join to complete projects that are always a rewarding and life memory experience to share.

Questions During Assembly

Fortunately, we rarely, if ever, get a phone call with an assembly question. This is an indication of the care we take to ensure you won’t have to scratch your head in confusion or call. Be assured, however, should a question arise we’re a video phone call away to quickly address and resolve.
